Honda Aircraft Company has completed its first delivery of the HondaJet Elite II in Brazil, marking a significant milestone following the aircraft's type validation by ANAC, the Brazilian National Civil Aviation Agency. The delivery was facilitated through Líder Aviação, Latin America's largest private aviation business, which serves as Honda's exclusive authorized sales representative in Brazil. This delivery brings the total number of HondaJets supported by Líder Aviação in the country to nine since 2017, and the aircraft is being showcased on static display at LABACE 2026, the region's premier business aviation trade show, running August 4-6 at Campo de Marte Airport in São Paulo.

The Elite II represents an incremental but meaningful evolution of the HondaJet platform, extending maximum NBAA IFR range to 1,547 nautical miles through increased fuel capacity and other performance refinements. For pilots and operators, the more consequential addition may be the introduction of autothrottle technology, which automates engine power management to maintain target speeds. This reduces pilot workload during high-task-load phases of flight and improves passenger comfort by smoothing power transitions. Autothrottle systems have become table stakes in the light and midsize business jet segment, and their addition to the HondaJet line helps close a capability gap with competitors while easing the transition for pilots moving between aircraft types with varying levels of automation.

For working pilots and flight departments, this delivery is a useful signal of continued international market expansion for light jets in a region where business aviation infrastructure and demand have been growing steadily. Brazil remains one of the largest and most active business aviation markets outside North America, and Líder Aviação's network of 22 FBOs provides the maintenance, support, and sales infrastructure necessary to sustain a growing HondaJet fleet. Type certification by ANAC is a nontrivial regulatory milestone that opens the door to broader fleet growth, and it reflects Honda Aircraft's deliberate strategy of building certification and support infrastructure market-by-market rather than relying solely on North American and European sales.

More broadly, the Elite II delivery fits into a wider trend of OEMs incrementally upgrading proven airframes with automation and range improvements rather than launching entirely new clean-sheet designs, a pattern also seen with competitors in the light and very light jet categories. Enhanced automation like autothrottle also aligns with industry-wide efforts to reduce single-pilot and small-crew workload, which is particularly relevant as more owner-flown and single-pilot HondaJets enter service.
